Mrs. Harrison died on Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Lawton. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Rush Springs. She was born Sept. 24, 1915 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Carl and Mellie Hatton Turley. She later married Luther Thomas Harrison on July 7, 1934, in Washita. She lived in Medicine Park from 1947 to 1976. In 1976, she moved to Rush Springs. She loved sports and taking care of her family and was a member of the Eastern Star and Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons: J.C. Harrison and wife, Esther, Cache; and Thomas Harrison and wife Sherry, Rush Springs; two daughters: Vangie Miller and husband Herb, Rush Springs; and June Woods and husband Wendel, Rush Springs; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, four granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. ========= Marlow Review 23 Mar 2006 Oleta Harrison Oleta Harrison, 90, of Rush Springs passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Lawton. Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 22, in the Rush Springs Cemetery, with David Hale officiating. Services were under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Oleta was born Friday, Sept. 24, 1915, in Sulpher Springs, Texas, to Carl and Mellie (Hatton) Turley. Oleta married Luther Thomas Harrison on July 7, 1934, in Washita. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1996. She lived in Medicine Park from 1947 to 1976. In 1976 she moved to Rush Springs. Oleta loved all sports, watching her grandchildren play and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.
