All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 25 April 2002 Brenda Coffey 'Butch' Harred - Garvin 16 Jul 1950 - 23 Apr 2002 :Fletcher Cemetery ELGIN — Funeral for Brenda Coffey "Butch" Harred, 51, Elgin, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elgin Fine Arts Center with the Revs. Bill Boles, Gaylon White and Ray Fletcher officiating. Mrs. Harred died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in Norman. Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home. She was born July 16, 1950, in Pauls Valley to Kenneth and Nancy Coffey. She was a graduate of Pauls Valley High School. She received her teaching degree from Cameron University in Lawton and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She married Phil Harred on May 20, 1977, in Pauls Valley. She had worked for schools in Liberal, Kan., and as an administrative assistant in Elgin Public Schools. At the time of her death she was employed by Lawton Public Schools and had taught physical education at Douglass, John Adams, Sweeney and Eisenhower elementary schools. She was a 2002 Champion for Children honoree. She was a member of the Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene and had served in the youth ministry. She had received the Order of Timothy award through the Nazarene Church. Survivors include her husband, of the home; her parents, Pauls Valley; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Don and Cheryl Coffey, Wynnewood; and Steve and Debbie Coffey, Pauls Valley; three nieces and their spouses: Tracie and Chris DelToroto, Edmond; Kena and Matt Holder, Wayne; and Ilena Coffey, Wynnewood; and a nephew, Shawn Coffey, Pauls Valley. Memorial contributions may be made to Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene NYI Youth Group, 1707 NW Lincoln, Lawton 73507.
