Mr. Hurd died Friday, May 16, 2003, in Lawton. ========= Lawton Consitituion 22 May 2003 MacArthur Hurd Funeral for MacArthur Hurd, 59, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Chapel with Sandra Butler, the Rev. Hartwell Menesee and the Rev. Darwin McHenry officiating. Mr. Hurd died Friday, May 16, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. He was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Lawton, to Almeady Thompson and Loyal Hurd. He attended Dunbar Elementary and Douglas High School. He was employed by Howard Smith Ford, Dan Rudder Volkswagon, and Curt's Service Station as a detail man for many years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Maxine Bruner, Lawton; four brothers: Luther, Weldon, and Jimmy Hurd, all of Lawton; and Thomas Hurd, Wichita, Kan.; four nieces: Patricia Ann Hurd and Robin and Barbara Ann Leston, all of Lawton; and Shirley Ann Hurd, Memphis, Tenn.; 12 nephews: Weldon Hurd Jr., Tulsa; and Joe Wayne Hurd, Carlton Smith, Alfred, Trent, Ricky, Glendell and Mark Lawrence, Joseph Bruner, Clarence and Prentiss Wils and Lonnie Richardson, all of Lawton; 17 great-nephews; 16 great-nieces; a special friend, Rebecca Smith, and children, all of Lawton. He was preceded in death by his parents: a sister, Faye Gladys Hurd; and two brothers: Lordale and Wilbert Hurd.
