Mrs. Hughes died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her home. Burial followed in the Letitia Cemetery, East of Lawton under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born March 11, 1922 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Guy Lee and Lucy Mae (Coles) Woolley. She married Kenneth W. Hughes on March 2, 1942 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1982. She was a member of Letitia Baptist Church, the Wichita Mountain Horse Show Association, the Lawton Saddle Club, the Center for Creative Living, AARP, NARFE, OSU Alumni Association, the Roseland Club and Alma's Group. She is survived by a daughter, Cherly Taliaferro and husband Richard; two sons, Scotty Hughes and wife Candace, Dennie Hughes and wife Lyn of Velma, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, Dr. Shawna McCune, Vonda Williams and husband Jerry, Kim Chambers and husband Dr. Larry, Tiffani Burk and husband Dewayne, Clint Hughes, Justin Hughes and wife Dawn of San Marcos, Texas; 14 grandchildren, Deekota and Maverick Williams, J.R. and Alex Loera, Logan, Makenzie and Madison Burk, Kendal, Kelbi Mae, Ty, Tate and Tuckker Hughers, Dylan and Kay Hughes of San Marcos, Texas; extended family, Janie Hertzog, Shannon Brown, Suzanne Cherry and Darla Sanders. Her parents, husband, three brothers, Charley, Elmo and Roy Woolley, a daughter-in-lawe, Fran Hughes, a grandson-in-law, John Loera and a grandson, Tracey Taliaferro preceded her in death.
