Jones Age 81, Lawton, Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at First Assembly of God with Rev. Don Barnes, pastor officiating. Mr. Jones died Saturday. Burial will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born July 15, 1923 in Booth, Arkansas to John Franklin and Rachel (Hudspeth) Jones. He graduated from high school in Mansfield, Arkansas, where he played football. He married Syble Davis on June 13, 1941 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She died in 1996. Mr. Jones was an insurance executive for many years and then worked part time in the Putnam City High School cafeteria in Oklahoma City until 2002. He was a member of First Assembly of God. Survivors include three children; Patricia Dickerson and her husband Al, Whitney, Texas, Verdell Jones and his wife Lue Ann, Houston, Texas, and Linda Barnes and her husband Rev. Don Barnes, Lawton, a sister; Mildred Stevens, Fort Smith, seven grandchildren; Tammy Salles and her husband George, Jeffrey Thomas and his wife Sarah, Kyle Jones, Ginger Wiggins and her husband Duane, Amanda Jones, Heather Barnes, and Brent Barnes, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1320 N.W.
