Patricia M Johnson - Born August 24th, 1933 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lee Houston and Minnie Lee Thompson. The Thompson family moved to Phoenix when Pat was three years old. She graduated from West High School in Phoenix in 1951 and returned to Oklahoma to live with her grandmother Georgia Hendershot. In Lawton, she took a job with the local telephone co. One year later she returned to Phoenix and started working for Mountain States Telephone, which eventually led to a career with AT&T. In 1954, she met Roy L. Johnson, a USAF flight engineer stationed at Luke AFB. They were married in Wickenburg, AZ. on August 10th, 1956. This was the beginning of a marriage and partnership which lasted for over 51 wonderful years. In 1957, she had the 1st of three children, David, followed by Kevin in 1964 and finally in 1966 a red-hair, green eyed girl, Karen, was born, completing this family. Shortly thereafter she returned to work for Western Electric at their cable plant. After losing Karen to leukemia in 1980, Pat started to get involved with various charities and functions including The March of Dimes, the Cable Leros club of the Telephone Pioneers, the Ice Skating Club of Phx, and The Special Olympics. Pat was a very loving and caring person who was known as Mrs J to all the kids she came into contact with. After retiring from AT&T in 1989 she went on to work for Az Game and Fish. On September 2, 2007, at the age of 74, and after a seven year fight with Alzhiemers, she passed peacefully away at her home in Eldorado,Illinois. She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother James, and daughter Karen. She is survived by her husband Roy, sons David and Kevin, daughter in law Maryann, brother Lee and his wife Mary Thompson of Snowflake, brother John and his wife Millie Thompson of Sacramento Ca., sister Dorothy and her husband Robert Glenn of Phx., sister Georgia Sue and her husband Leon Coudriet of Jacksonville, N.C. and all the nieces, nephews and extended family. Services are to be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 a 11:00 AM. She will be missed by all.
