Kerchee Funeral for Nettie H. Kerchee, 81, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Comanche Nation Complex, north of Lawton, with the Rev. Wilford Niedo officiating. A prayer service will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the complex. Mrs. Kerchee died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Deyo Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. She was born May 2, 1921, to Hovarithka and Perthay. She married Melvin Kerchee Sr. on Jan. 12, 1941, in Lawton. She was a nurse at Reynolds Army Hospital for more than 17 years. She was a descendant of Chief Ten Bear, Chief Cheevers and Sacajawea. Survivors include her husband, Lawton; three sons and two daughters-in- law: Winston and Donna Kerchee, Choctaw; Melvin Kerchee Jr. and Debbie Kerchee, and Charles Kerchee and his companion, Junanita, all of Cache; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Gwendolyn and Jarvis Poahway, Indiahoma; Lucinda Kerchee, Geronimo; and Roberta and Donald Burgess, Lawton; and a sister, Anna Grover. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Robert, William, George, Jim, Walker and Charles Coffey; four sisters: Lucy Wahkahquah, Margaret Cheevers Wallace, Roxie Coffey and Ellen Coffey; a grandson, Paul Campilongo Jr.; and agranddaughter, Raynelle Lorene Kerchee.
