Kerns Age 73, Marlow - Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church, East of Lawton, with Rev. Shaun Wicker, Pastor, and Rev. John E. Cramer, Retired Methodist Minister, Lawton, OK, officiating. Mr. Kerns died Thursday at his home in Marlow. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 6pm to 8pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. He was born April 17, 1932 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Charles Foyd and Lula Mae (West) Kerns. He served in Korea and Vietnam, and did three tours in Germany. After his retirement from the Army, he worked at Fort Sill from 1982 until 1991. He married Doris Mentzer on March 29, 1975 in Carlisle, PA. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors Include: Wife Doris Kerns of the home. 2 Children: Pamela G. Taylor and husband Kent of Kansas City, MO, and Kenneth R. Kerns and his wife Lee of Independence, MO. Sister: Darlene Elam of La Cgyne, KS, 2 Half-Sisters, Nina Reeves and Juanita Bailey both of Tulsa, OK. Half- Brother Clinton Kerns of Stone Mountain, GA. 3 Grandchildren: Tiffany M. Bradford and husband Paul, Kansas City, MO, Bradford S. Taylor and wife Holly of DeSoto, KS and Kenneth R. Kerns, Jr. of Independence, MO. 2 Great Grandchildren: Pierce T. Bradford of Kansas City, MO and Avery E. Bradford of Kansas City, MO. Niece and Nephew: Lisa and Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents.
