Hinson Funeral for retired Sgt.1st Class William E. Hinson, 83, Lawton, is pending with Jefferson Funeral Home. Mr. Hinson died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at his home. =========== Lawton Consitituion 9 Oct 2004 James George Levonik Memorial graveside service with military honors for retired Sgt. 1st Class James George Levonik, 62, Lawton, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. Mr. Levonik died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at his home. Arrangements are under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Detroit, to George and Anna Levonik. He graduated from Osborn High School in Detroit in 1961. He worked for Davidson Brothers of Detroit until enlisting in the Army. He served from April 1961 to May 1981 and retired with an honorable discharge as a Pershing electronics missile repairer and calibration specialist. His military awards include Meritorius Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, National Defense Service Medal, Citation with Palm, Sharpshooter (M16), Vietnam Service Medal with four stars, Good Conduct Medal sixth award, three Overseas Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He married Carol June McConnel on March 16, 1979, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He lived in the Lawton/Fort Sill area since that time. After retiring form the military, he worked in auto parts and sales for Felton Dean and Lawson Autoplex in Lawton until he retired in July 2004 due to ill health. He was a member of the Cowboy Shoot Club, Skeet Club and Holy Family Catholic Church.
