All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Post Cemetery--Fort Sill OK Lawton Constitution 24 Apr 2003 Fred David Lacy Sr. Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class Fred David Lacy Sr., 61, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Church of the Living God with Bishop Collis Allen, pastor, officiating. Sgt. Lacy died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Sill Post Cemetery under direction of Jefferson Funeral Home Inc. He was born Aug. 3, 1941, in Batchelor, La., to Gussie and Burnice Lacy. He graduated from Batchelor High School in 1959, and enlisted in the Army. He married Judy Blackwell on April 2, 1966 in Topeka, Kan. He came to Lawton in 1972 from Germany. He retired in July 1986. Military awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Overseas Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon-2, Noncomissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal-7, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Expert (rifle M-16). After retiring from the Army, he was employed by ITT Industries at Fort Sill for 16 years. He was a member of Lawton Church of the Living God. Survivors include two sons: Fred D. Lacy Jr. and David E. Lacy, both of Lawton; a daughter, Mildred Lacy, Lawton; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Gussie and Callie Lacy, Chicago; Earl and Dione Lacy, Charles and Donna Lacy and Don and Shirley Lacy, all of Chute, Texas; Jeremy and Patrick Lacy, Baton Rouge, La.; and Doyle Lacy, Batchelor; five sisters and two brothers-in-law: Lydia Lacy and Karen Lacy, both of Batchelor; Pearl and Jones Franklin, Baton Rouge, La.; Janet and Bobby Honore, Angleton, Texas; and Sharon Carter, Chute; four aunts; six grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
