All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution May 29, 2002 Bernard Luna 59 YO - May 26, 2002 Highland Cemetery Funeral for Bernard Luna, 59, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Scott Comanche United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Byington, pastor, officiating. Mr. Luna died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel. He was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Lawton to Ben and Idelia Luna. He married Betty Nell on March 21, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He received an associate degree in physical education from Cameron University and held many jobs during his life. He also had been a member of the Army Reserve. He coached Little League football at Lee, Taft and Will Rogers elementary schools. He was a lifelong Lawton resident. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Abel Luna, Lawton; a daughter, Sonja Noe and her husband Austin, Lawton; his stepmother, Helen Luna, Geronimo; a brother, Tyrone Luna, Clarksville, Tenn.; four half- brothers, Benny Ray Luna, Tedd Luna, Robert Luna and Sammy Luna, all of Geronimo; five sisters: Stella Hale, Donna Epps and Sharon Whipkey, all of Clarksville; Debbie Lane, Pleasantville, Tenn.; and Teresa Lindsay, Nashville, Tenn.; a grandchild, Austin Noe IV; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Darren; a half-brother, Shawn Luna; and a brother, Abel Luna.
