A private memorial service will be held for family and friends. Born Dec. 12, 1922, to August and Virginia Gillman, in Elgin, she served in both the U.S. Marine Corps Women’s Reserve and the Women’s Army Corp during WWII, during her service she was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Long, Sr.; a grandson, Leonard Long; and a grandson-in-law, Michael Martin, Jr. Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Dixie Long Jr. of Natchitoches, LA, and U.S.A.F. Capt.
