Maple, 85, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, in Amarillo, with the Rev. Ken Peterson of O'Donnell and the Rev. Ron Kelley of Kress officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. Maple was born in Indiahoma, Okla. He moved to Claude in the mid 1940s from Oklahoma. He lived in Claude until moving to Dumas in 1957. He lived in Plainview from 1978 to 1997. He was living in Lubbock at the time of his death. He was self-employed. He owned and operated Dumas Locker in Dumas after spending many years farming and ranching. He retired in 1978. He was a member of the Lions Club in Dumas and was past president of the Texas / Oklahoma Locker Association. He was Baptist. Mr. Maple married Jennola Crownover in 1938 at Claude. Survivors include his wife; two sons, DeWarren Maple of Superior, Neb., and Timothy Maple of Bedford; a daughter, Mary Kelley of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
