McIver - Illinois 29 Oct 1927 - 18 Apr 2002 :Sterling Cemetery STERLING — Funeral for Pearl N. McIver, 74, Sterling, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Sterling, with Rick Rogers, pastor, and Doug Turney officiating. Mrs. McIver died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at her home. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. She was born Oct. 29, 1927, in New Lenox, Ill., to Arnold and Amelia Litke Friant. She was raised in Sterling and married John McIver on June 8, 1950, in Okemah. He died March 30, 1998. She worked for Alford’s Café as a cook for many years and later worked for the Elgin Café. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a teacher for the Crusaders Women’s Sunday School Class and a Bible teacher. She was also a G.A. leader as well as the W.M.U. director since 1969. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Darrel Gibson, Cyril; three sons: Bill, Greg, and Dale McIver, all of Sterling; four brothers: Charles Friant, Tucson, Ariz.; Dick Friant, New Lenox, Ill.; Walt Friant, Minooka, Ill.; David Friant, Frankfort, Ill.; a sister, Irene McClane, Doniphan, Mo.; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild. She was proceeded in death by her brother Carl Friant. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1305 W. Gore Blvd., Lawton, OK 73505.
