All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 27 Oct 2002 Ellen Jane Hamilton-Ward-Makowiecki Funeral for Ellen Jane Hamilton-Ward-Makowiecki, 78, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church with Rev. Mark Mucklow, First Southern Baptist, Phoenix Ariz.; the Rev. Wayne Ashlock; and Rev. John Wallace, Grace Fellowship, officiating. Mrs. Hamilton-Ward-Makowiecki died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at her home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Lawton to John Jack and Jeanette Hamilton. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, L.R. "Blackie" Walker. She graduated "Best Dressed" from Lawton High School in 1942, where she played in the band. She married Dale Olan Ward on Jan. 12, 1943. She owned and operated Ellen's School of Dance in Fletcher during the 1940's. She later owned Country Squire Liquor Store in Lawton. She married George Makowiecki in 1982. He died July 1, 1991. She was a member of The First Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Tammie Sunday-Delong and her husband, Joe, Lawton; a son, Stanton Morgan Ward, Lawton; five grandchildren: Starr Cannon, Dallas, Texas; Dallas Smith and Morgan, Weston, and Madison Ward, all of Lawton; her former husband, Dale Ward and his wife, Minnie, Camden, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Raymond and John Hamilton.
