All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Funeral Card - St. John's Baptist Church Lawton OK Aggie Nora [Malloy] McIntosh 1919-1995 Aggie Nora [Malloy], 76, the daughter of Lonnie and Rosella Malloy was born July 23, 1919 in Laurinburg, North Carolina. On October 13, 1995 with the divine will of Our Heavenly Father, she entered into eternal rest. Aggie was married to the late Elijah McIntosh on the 19th day of September 1951 in Washington D.C. He died February 19, 1995. Aggie had lived in Lawton Oklahoma for thirty-one years. She accepted Christ in 1958 at an earlier age under the pastorship of Dr John Pruitt of Grant Chapel Baptist Church in Boston Massachusetts. She became a member of St. John's Baptist Church in 1963. Her Christian live was a beautiful flower. She served faithfully as an Usher and President of Ushers, the Mission President, Sunday School Teacher, Directress of Training Union, Chairperson of the Deaconess Guild, member of the Board of Directors of the Food Bank, Directress of Mission Friends, Card Carrier for the Oklahoma City Food Bank, worker witht he Church Women's United, and worker with the Black Committe for Urban Renewal, Directress of the Tot's Choir, St. John's Feeding Program and Mobile Meals to the sick and shut-in. She was the first African American to be invited to President Lyndon Johnson's Inaugural Ball, which was held on January 12, 1965, and was the first volunteer for the Mobile Meals Program and was honored at the city wide Martin Luther King, Jr Program for her devoted service to the Lawton community. She leaves to mourn three children: her son, Edward and her daughters, Debra and Daphyne of the home; 5 grangchildren, LaTash and Elijah McIntosh, of the home, Jhanta and Jeremy Yarbrought and Andre McIntosh, both of Lawton, Oklahoma; her sister Beulah Brown, Washington D.C.; three nephews Thomas and Nat Brown of Washington, D.C. and Allen Malloy of Laurinburg, N.C.; a cousin, Anthony Stuart, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
