All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 27 Mar 2003 Della Blanche McMahan APACHE — Funeral for Della Blanche McMahan, 90, Apache, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Apache First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sara Bodenstein, pastor, officiating. Mrs. McMahan died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, under direction of Crews Funeral Home, Apache. She was born March 5, 1913, north of Lawton to George Edward and Ara May Robison. She married B.W. "Pete" McMahan on July 28, 1938, in Chickasha. She graduated from Central State Teachers College in 1938 and taught school for 35 years, retiring in 1975. She taught at Stony Point, Lone Jack and in Lawton at Lincoln, Will Rogers, Woodrow Wilson and Eisenhower Junior High School. She was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma and National Education associations. She and her husband moved to Apache from Lawton in 1976. She was a member of Apache First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of the Eastern Star No. 380. Survivors include her husband, Apache; three daughters: Margaret Dorrell and Mary McDonald, both of Lawton; and Bobbie Wainner, Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Brent McMahan, Lumberton, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and a brother, K.M. "Jack" Robison, Damon, Texas. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Clara Dimon, Barbara Crain and Lissie May Duncan; and five brothers: Paul, Eugene, Morris, Lawrence Edward and T.B.
