Maddox Funeral for retired Master Sgt. Donald W. Maddox, 66, Lawton, is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Sgt. Maddox died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at his home. ========= Lawton Constitution 1 Dec 2003 Donald W. Maddox Funeral for retired 1st Sgt. Donald W. Maddox, 66, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Barnes, pastor, First Assembly of God, officiating. Sgt. Maddox died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Minden, Texas, to Bent and Lucinda Caddell Maddox. He married Dorthy Hodge on Oct. 3, 1959, in Henderson, Texas. She died May 16, 2003. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and received numerous medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Three Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Bronze Star Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal with 'V' Device, Humanitarian Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal with Second Oak Leaf Cluster. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Cedric and Ella Maddox, Mount Enterprise, Texas; and Reginald and Sonya Maddox, Lawton; three daughters and sons-in-law: Lanya and Darren Doyle and Donna and Frank Newkirk, all of Lawton; Felicia and Artis Jackson, Sacramento, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lo Ethel Adams, Denver, Colo.; and Lou Ann Davis, Tamarac, Fla.; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Weldon Maddox. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 Third Avenue, New York City, N.Y. 10017.
