All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::NOT LISTED St John Baptist Church Funeral Card Elcena Stevenson Mitchell Elcena Stevenson Mitchell was born Jun 8, 1932 in Milo, Oklahoma to B.C. and Adena Stevenson, only to lose her mother at the age of seven and was raised by her stepmother, Addie Mae Stevenson. At an early age, she became involved in the program of the Church, especially singing. On November 10, 1952, she united in Holy Matrimony to Clarence Mitchell. Blessed of this union were born four children, Clarence Jr., Evonne, Rodney and Michael. She lived a Christina life that was as the fragrance of a beautiful rose, and her influence will ever live on in our hearts. She joined St. John's Baptist Church in 1975, where she was active in the Nurse's Guild, the Women's Missionary Board, the Senior Usher Board, the Mobile Meals Program and was a member of the Christian Witnessing Team. She was always reading and willing to help someone in need and was a devoted mother, wife, loyal friend, and what a soldier! She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: a loving husband, Clarence of Lawton, Oklahoma; three sons, Clarence Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Rodney of Washington, D.C. and Michael of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Evonne Ford who is currently stationed in Germany; a devote and loving father, B.C.
