Mietchen Age 86, Lawton, Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Friday in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Shelly Coulter, Associate Pastor, Centenary United Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Mietchen died Monday in Lawton. She was born October 1, 1918 in Comanche County to Alonzo A. “Bud” and Mae Belle Barclay. She grew up in Lawton and attended Lawton High School and graduated high school in Cache. She had attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She was married to Arden H. Mietchen on June 15, 1946 in Lawton. He died November 19, 1993. She moved to Tulsa in the mid 1950’s and had been active in a number of arts groups while there. Survivors include a sister and brother in law, Eva and Pete Jennings, Faxon; two nieces, Barbara Stapleton and husband Melvin and Mikel Hill and husband Clyde, all of Lawton; a nephew, Buster Owens and wife Ann, Littlefield, Texas; a brother in law, Everett A. Mietchen and wife Marian, Lawton as well as several great nieces and nephews. A brother, Harold Barclay, and a sister, Norma Owens, preceded her in death.
