All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Messinger FH--Scotsdale AZ Mottley, Linda Jo Linda Jo Mottley was born March 25, 1952 in Lawton, OK and departed this life in Scottsdale, AZ, February 14, 2007, at the age of 54 years, 10 months, and 19 days. Linda grew up in Walters, OK. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Walters. While in high school she was band majorette and acted and sang in many school plays. She graduated from Walters High School in the class of 1970. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1975. For several years, Linda was a speech and drama teacher in Norman, OK where she also served as head of the Drama Department. Linda was involved in numerous community theatre productions and enjoyed using her talent to entertain others. Linda moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1987 where she worked as a gifted hair stylist and took pride in making her clients and friends beautiful. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Jay Wyatt in 2004. Survivors include her husband Chuck Mottley of the home; one son, Matt Crawford, also of Scottsdale; her parents J.T. and Helen Wyatt of Pharr, TX; her sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and George Fielding also of Pharr, TX; and four step children: Marsha Peacemaker of San Francisco, Douglas (and husband Bill) Weeks of Eatonton, GA, Josh Mottley of Hollywood, CA, and Jed Mottley of Scottsdale. Linda also is survived by two grandsons, Isaac and Matthew Weeks of Eatonton, GA; two nephews, Joe and John Wyatt of Mt. Morris, IL; 14 cousins; 2 aunts and uncles; numerous friends; and her faithful companion of 12 years, her dog J.J. Linda was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend. She lived her life to the fullest. She loved OU football, dancing, karaoke, water skiing, and took tremendous pleasure in making others laugh with her many stories and jokes. Linda was blessed with determination and a generous spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to the charity of your choice.
