"Chuck" Miller Funeral for retired Chief Warrant Officer Charles A. "Chuck" Miller, 72, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Ralph Alexander, pastor, Boulevard Congregational and Christian Church, officiating. Mr. Miller died Monday, May 5, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army in January 1952 and served in Europe and Vietnam. He retired from the Army in February 1972 at Fort Sill. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Reserve Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Lebanon Expeditionary Force Ribbon, Vietnamese Campaign Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon with clusters and Presidential Unit Citation (Navy). He married Flo Pfirrman on Nov. 17, 1951, at Camden, N.J. After his retirement from the Army, he worked as a Comanche County Juvenile Officer and director of Marie Detty Youth Services Center. He later worked for civil service at Fort Sill and retired in 1992. He was a Lawton resident since 1960 and was a member of the Boulevard Congregational and Christian Church, the Elks Lodge No. 1056 and the Northeast Lions Club. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, and a member of OSA Easter Star. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Charles A. "Chuck" III and Adrienne Miller, Seattle, Wash.; and Carl W. Miller, Lawton; and two grandchildren: Katrina and Lana, both of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Wynn Sparkman.
