Charles Baggett, officiating. Mrs. Montgomery died Thursday in a Lawton Hospital. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born September 25, 1922 at Hobart, Oklahoma, to Daniel and Hazel Clark Fowler. She grew up in Hobart and was a 1940 graduate of Hobart High School. Following graduation she worked for the telephone office in Hobart. She came to Lawton in the mid 1940’s and worked as a secretary for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union but she was primarily a homemaker. She was married to William Shwen in February of 1945 in Lawton. She later married Albert E. Taylor on January 24, 1954 at Rockwall, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1963. She then married Ray Montgomery in December of 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He also preceded her in death. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very active, having taught Sunday school and served in the church nursery. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Sarah and Tom Riddle, Lawton, and Dana and Larry Newsom, Elgin; a son, Dwight Taylor, Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Janna Davis and husband Donald, Wes Riddle, Kyle and Kristan Newsom and Katie and Lauren Taylor; two great grandchildren, Miranda and Madeline Davis. Two sisters, Vivian Powers and Virginia Beverly, and a brother, John Fowler, preceded her in death.
