"Gene" Age 76, Faxon, Services will be 1:30 PM Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles W. King, Pastor, Lawton Heights United Methodist Church, officiating. Sergeant Morris died Monday in a local hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in the Highland Cemetery. He was born on September 19, 1928 in Evansville, Indiana to William and Beatrice (Scott) Morris. He served in the US Army and fought during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired on January 31, 1972 after 26 years of service. After his retirement, he was a reserve deputy for the Comanche County Sheriff’s Department, before becoming a deputy. He also worked as the Chief of Police for Cache and a bailiff for the Comanche County Courthouse. He also owned his own private processor service business. He married Lieselotte Bleich Taube at Fort Sill on May 14, 1966. Gene was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #29 and was the Commander for three years, a lifetime member of the VFW #1193, and also a lifetime member of the German American Club. Sergeant Morris was a member of the Retired Service Personnel Association and the VA. Survivors include his wife of the home; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Northcutt and her husband, William, of Hurst, Texas; three grandchildren, Gregory Northcutt and his wife, Lisa, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Lance and Brian Northcutt, both of Hurst, Texas; three great grandsons, Christopher, Gregory, Jr. and Carter; a sister, Jewel Wilson of Sturgis, Kentucky; a brother, James Morris of Sturgis, Kentucky; a daughter, Deborah Morris of Massachusetts; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Eileen Jackson and Ruth Smith, and two brothers, Robert and Arthur Morris, preceded him in death.
