NICEVILLE, Fla. - Word has been received of the death of former Lawton resident Albert D. "A.D." Morgan, 74, Niceville, Fla. Mr. Morgan died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his home. He was born March 10, 1928, in Picher, Okla., to Admiral D. and Nancy Marie Morgan. He was raised in Lawton, Okla., and attended Lawton Public Schools. He served four years in the Air Force and later joined the Army. He was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., where he was named an honor student and earned the highest academic grade of his class. He was recognized by Brig. Gen. David W. Hiester for his achievement. He was also stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and served a tour in Korea. He served on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga during the Vietnam War. He retired as Sgt. 1st Class after 24 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Frances Morgan; two sons: Ronnie E. Morgan and Allen Lee Morgan; two daughters: Judy Ball and Janet Whitmore; two stepdaughters: Linda Thompson and Melba Grant; three brothers: Jack Morgan, Donnie Morgan, and Joe Morgan; a sister, Violet LaRoche; six grandchildren: Lanny Glass, Steven Tyrone, Justin Gilliland, Skipper Morgan, Crystal Rowe, and Traci Schettler; and four great-grandchildren: Jessie, Dakota, Denan, and Caden. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
