All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rush Springs Cemetery--Rush Springs OK Evelyn Mae Murray, 82, of Blanchard died Thursday, Sept 1, 2005 in Oklahoma City. Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home and officiated by the Rev. Elmer Whitehead. Mrs. Murray was born Monday, December 4, 1922 in Rush Springs to Jack Hawpe and Tura (Fulks) Hawpe. She and Billy Joe Murray were married January 13, 1945 in Duncan and were divorced in the early 1980s. She graduated Rush Springs High School in 1940. She lived in Marlow for 10 years before moving to Lawton for 30 years. She later moved to Blanchard for 18 years and then to Tuttle for the last three years. She worked five years for the FBI during World War II as a secretary. She later became the secretary for KSWO-TV and radio for 20 years until her retirement. She collected porcelain shoes and spoons. Evelyn was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
