All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 7 Jul 2005 Barbara Jean Noble Funeral for Barbara Jean Noble, 82, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Willoughby, associate pastor, officiating. Mrs. Noble died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at a Fort Worth, Texas, hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born June 21, 1923, in Trenton, Mo., to Maples P. and Elsie Mae Stamper Owens. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1941. She married Prentice A. Noble on Nov. 25, 1948, in Lawton. He died July 17, 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. She was one of the founders and served on the board for Lawton Community Concerts. She was a past president of the Schubert Music Club, a past board member of the Philharmonic Women Association and a member of the state Retired Teachers Association. She was a switchboard receptionist and assistant editor of the Teletab for the Lawton Morning Press for nine years. She retired from the Cameron University staff after 15 years. Survivors include three children and their spouses: Richard and Amy Daniel, Benton, Ark.; Linda and Don Ballew, Fort Worth, Texas; and Denise and Mike Belcher, Lawton; five grandchildren and their spouses: Rick and Ginger Daniel, Rowlett, Texas; Ryan and Karen Daniel, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kelli Potts, Lawton; Rhett and Dana Daniel, Centerton, Ark.; and Rachel and Wade Willmott, Roanoke, Va.; five great-grandchildren: Alyssa Dial, Dylan Dial, Riley Daniel, Brayden Daniel and Bridger Daniel; and a sister, Martha Stone, Clearwater, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Owens.
