Peppel Funeral for Ron L. Peppel, 59, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Vivian Garza, pastor, and the Rev. Eddie Coast, pastor, Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Peppel died Monday, Dec.16, 2002, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born June 8, 1943, in Lawton to Lee Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Hoskins Peppel. He grew up in Lawton, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1961. He attended Cameron Junior College and Oklahoma State University, and received a bachelor of arts degree from Southwestern University in 1968. He married Marcia Flippen on Aug. 15, 1964, in Lawton. He was a farmer and cattleman in this area for many years, and was a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association and the American International Charolais Association. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Roderick and Lori Peppel, Weaubleau, Mo.; and Ross Peppel Lawton; two grandchildren: Kelsi and Lakota Peppel, Weaubleau, Mo.; his former wife, Marcia Peppel, Lawton; and his companion, Raye Reed, Fox. He was preceded in death by his parents.
