All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 21 Nov 2004 Gracie Viola Passons Funeral service for Gracie Viola Passons, 90, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Dwight Lowrie, pastor, Liberty-Eylau Baptist Church, Texarkana, Texas, and Dr. Gary Cook, pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Passons died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at her home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Ladonia, Texas to John James and Lois Eunice Reid Liles. She moved to Lawton and married Clarence Hurshel Passons on Oct. 26, 1937. They lived in Lawton the rest of their lives. He died Sept. 30, 1983. She worked as a sales clerk in several stores. She was also a seamstress and crocheted more than 3,000 sets of booties and caps for newborn babies in hospitals in the Lawton area. She was a member of Lawton First Baptist Church and worked in the church nursery for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Extension Club. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Clarence Hurshel Passons Jr.; and two sisters: Zilpha Miller and Birdie D. Stewart.
