All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Faxon Cemetery--Faxon OK Lawton Constitution 17 Jun 2003 Noma Peters FAXON - Funeral for Noma Peters, 79, Faxon, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Community Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Bobbi McGary, officiating. Mrs. Peters died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at her home. Burial will be at Faxon Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Chattanooga. She graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1941. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Cameron University and a master's degree in special education from the University of Oklahoma. She worked as a teacher in the Faxon and Frederick school districts and taught adult education for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She married Maj. Karl Peters (Army Air Corps) on April 4, 1945. She and her husband owned and operated the P-4 cattle ranch near Faxon. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga. Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Peters and her husband, John DeLong, La Honda, Calif.; a son, Karl Brent Peters and his wife, Karen, Lawton; three sisters: Cecilia Teas, McCammey, Texas; Mary Swearengen, Edmond; and Margarette Swearengen, Arcadia; a granddaughter, Karlee Peters; several cousins and many friends.
