Phillips Funeral for Shirley K. Phillips, 67, Lawton, is pending with Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at a local hospital. ========= Lawton Constitution 7 Nov 2003 Shirley 'Kaye' Phillips Funeral for Shirley "Kaye" Phillips, 67, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry MaGee, Clarksville, Ark., officiating. Ms. Phillips died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born July 4, 1936, in Clarksville to Charles and Iola Wolverton Holloway. She grew up in Clarksville and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1953. She attended the University of the Ozarks and graduated from North Texas University in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in music. She married Don Phillips on June 3, 1956, in Clarksville and they moved to Lawton in 1957. They moved to Tulsa in 1961, and back to Lawton in 1962. She taught music at several elementary schools in Lawton, including Jefferson, Pecan Grove and Hoover, before retiring. She was a member of Lawton First Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Toni Phillips, Forth Worth, Texas; and two grandchildren: Brent and Brad Phillips, both of Forth Worth.
