Mr. Paulsen died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at a Chickasha care center. ========= Lawton Constitution 2 & 3 Jan 2005 George Paulsen FLETCHER -- Funeral for George J. Paulsen, 86, Fletcher, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Fletcher, with the Rev. Mike Tompkins, Director of Missions of Comanche-Cotton Baptist Association; and the Rev. Rodney Campbell, pastor, officiating. Mr. Paulsen died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in a Chickasha nursing center. Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Litchfield, Neb., and was raised in that area until he joined the Army. He served during World War II and was stationed at Fort Sill. He married Opal McCarty on June 4, 1944, in Fletcher. She died Jan. 11, 2003. They moved to Spokane, Wash., where he was stationed. They moved back to Fletcher in 1946. They owned and operated a café and later a children's clothing store and a grocery store in Fletcher. He worked for Arkla gas company, now Reliant Gas Co., and retired from there in 1980. He was a member of the American Legion of Fletcher. Survivors include a son, Douglas Paulsen, Chickasha; and a sister, Leona McMasters, Scotts Bluff, Neb.
