Perry APACHE — Funeral for retired Master Sgt. Albert T. Perry, 77, Apache, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Herschel R. Lindsey, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Mr. Perry died Thursday, June 5, 2003, in a Lawton hospital. Interment will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. He was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Carrolton, Mo., to John F. and Mary Catherine Perry. He married Yuriko Ishikawa on Sept. 20, 1951, in Tokyo, Japan. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1966. He owned and operated the Family Corner Grocery in Lawton from 1966 to 1977. He then moved to Apache and ran the Hi-Way Grocery from 1977 to 1981. In 1982 he went to work for the Apache schools in maintenance, retiring in 1988. He then opened Al’s Lawn Mower Repair in Edgewater Park. He operated this shop until his death. He was a member of the Edgewater Park Volunteer Fire Department, the VFW, and the Edgewater Park Liar’s Club. Survivors include his wife, of the home; four children: Carrol Bailey and husband Paul, Oklahoma City; Juanita Ruiz and husband Mike, Dale Perry and wife Kay, and Joyce Perry Linton, all of Lawton; two brothers: John Perry and his wife Pat, Salina, Kan.; and Charles Perry, Olathe, Kan.; six grandchildren: Andrea Hayes and husband Troy, New Hampshire; Lindsey Linton, Chad Perry, Adam Perry, Emily Perry and Gabriel Ruiz, all of Lawton; four great-grandchildren: C.J. Shema, Adam Hayes Jr., Zeke Hayes and Alexander Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, and two brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewater Park Volunteer Fire Department, 126 S. Hilltop Road, Apache, OK 73006.
