Pursley Graveside service for Carmon R. Pursley, 90, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. today at Highland Cemetery with the Rev. David King, pastor, Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Pursley died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in Lawton. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home. He was born March 31, 1915, in Duncan to Lee N. and Burt Russell Pursley. He married Bonnie Gibson on Dec. 17, 1938, in Duncan. He worked at many bakeries in and around Lawton and at Cremer Furniture Company and owned a floor covering business for several years. He was the head carpenter at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Sill. From 1973 to 1974, he earned the Excellence Award for interior and decorative design at the Little Italy, the Corral and the Golden Door Outlet at Fort Sill. He retired from AAFES in 1975 after 17 years of service. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two children and their spouses: Jerry and Betty Pursley, McGregor, Texas; and Sharon and Kurt Meisenzahl, Lawton; a brother and sister-in-law: J.J. and Wilma Pursley, Lawton; a sister, Evelyn Doye, Moore; two grandchildren: Mark Pursley and his wife, Melissa, Lewisville, Texas; and Carol Conner, Lawton; their mother, Mary Ann Pursley; two stepgrandsons and their wives: David and Hisako Meisenzahl, Tokyo, Japan; and Daniel and Su Meisenzahl, Honolulu, Hawaii; four great-grandchildren: Matt and Morgan Pursley and Jake and Clayton Conner, all of Lawton; three stepgreat-grandchildren: Frankie Meisenzahl, Tokyo; and Maya and Kayla Meisenzahl, both of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and five brothers.
