Perkins Funeral for Kenneth N. Perkins, 67, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eighth and Lee Church of Christ. Mr. Perkins died Friday, March 14, 2003, in an Edmond hospital. Burial, with Masonic rites and firefighter honors, will be in Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton, under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Corydon, Iowa, to Orville and Hollis Perkins. He grew up in Iowa, and graduated from Corydon High School. He joined the Army on March 27, 1958, and was a Korean Veteran. Following discharge on March 26, 1964, he worked for the Lawton Fire Department. He retired in 1982 with the rank of lieutenant. He later worked for Kirks Wrecker and Ambulance Service and ARA Equipment Rental. He married Georgia Irlena Caldwell on Sept. 23, 1983, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She died March 22, 1998. He was a member of Roseland Church of Christ, was a 32nd-degree Mason, a member of Lawton Masonic Lodge No. 183 and the Guthrie Consistory, a member of the American, Oklahoma and Kansas Gelbvieh Associations, and the Oklahoma State Retired Firefighters Association. Survivors include two daughters: Sheryl Thornhill, Edmond; and Marie Pinson, Lawton; a son, Clayton Cook, Lawton; a twin brother, Kermit Perkins, Des Moines, Iowa; a brother-in-law, James Hayhurst, Shenandoah, Iowa; five grandchildren: Heather, Jennifer, Lauren, Dustin and Dillan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Hayhurst. Memorial contributions may be made to Roseland Church of Christ.
