Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bray Missionary Baptist Church with David Standifer, Steven Boydstun, Jim Deal and Chris Brown officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow. Mr. Prater was born July 24, 1929, in Bray to Noah and Gertha Emiline Mason Prater. He married Sue Ann English on June 16, 1951, in Lawton. Mr. Prater was a lifetime resident of Bray and attended Bray High School. He was the owner/operator of Don Prater Dozers of Bray. He enjoyed travel, water gardening, family, fishing and water sports. His main hobby was his family and his business. He enjoyed watching purple martins. Mr. Prater was a member of Bray Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Donald Bruce Prater of Bray and Jeffrey Charles Prater of Marlow; a daughter, Brenda S. Prater Boydstun of Bray; a brother, Paul L. Prater of Marlow; a brother-in-law, Glenn Woods of Ardmore; three sisters-in-law, Louise Prater of Bray, Mildred Prater of Velma and Lois Prater of Marlow; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, N.N. "Hoss," Lester, Stanley and Curtis Prater; and three sisters, Edith Farmer, Beulah Barker and Helen Woods. Bearers will be Keith Prater, Brandon Boydstun, Warner Tribbey, Mike Prater, Curtis Prater and Mark Richardson. Honorary bearers are Dean Graham, Loren Worley, Bill Renfrow, Granville Robinson, Mike Smith, Jon Young, Newt Boydston and Gerald Buehn.
