Graveside service for Raymond F. Prather, 70, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, with Matthew Kappel, bishop, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Prather died Wednesday at a Lawton hospital.. Burial with military honors will be under direction of Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Prather was born Oct. 24, 1934, in Stratford to John Thomas and Bertha Mae Jones Prather. He attended Cottonwood Elementary School and Byfford High School near Pauls Valley. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan, with I Company, 5th Calvary Regiment, as a specialist. He served from 1952 to 1955. He married Katie Victor on Sept. 27, 1958, in Gainsville, Texas. He was a farmer for most of his life, and also worked as a bank security guard. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Disabled American Veterans in Frederick and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Stratford. Survivors include his wife, of the home; five children and their spouses: Floyd T. and Donna Prather, Norfolk, Neb.; Kathy and Dan Hallagin, Lawton; Rhonda and Tony Copenhaver, Wichita Falls, Texas; Scott and Shawna Prather, Henrietta, Texas; and Marshall and Lacy Prather, Lawton; three brothers: James and Madeline Prather, Tuttle; Dean and Ida Prather, Maysville; and Terry Prather, Lexington; a sister: Imogene Stufflebean, Wynnewood; 13 grandchildren and their spouses: Corey Thomas and Jamie Prather, Fort Stewart, Ga.; Dustin Ray Prather, Junction City, Kan.; Charles Nicholas Prather, Junction City; Dessirea Kay and Jeremy Lofland, Arlington; Daniel James Hallagin, Hawaii; Michael Ray Hallagin, Timothy Walter Hallagin and Rashonda Ann Gray,all of Lawton; Rashel Lyn Gray and Ryan J. Gray, both of Wichita Falls; and Levi William Prather, Shaina Mae Prather and Ace Lee Prather, all of Henrietta, Texas; and three great- grandchildren: Taven Prather, Kayden Prather and Ronnie Prather, all of Fort Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Bennie; and a sister, Eva Gene.
