All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Post Cemetery--Ft Sill OK Lawton Constitution 01 May 2002 Wayne Lewis Reese June 29, 1954 - April 25, 2002 Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class Wayne Lewis Reese, 47, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael D. Logan, pastor, officiating. Sgt. Reese died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at a Dothan, Ala., hospital after a sudden illness. Burial with military honors and Masonic rites will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Jefferson Funeral Home. Kadosh and wake services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. He was born June 29, 1954, in Houston to John W. and Veola Reese. He came to Lawton in 1984 from Germany. He married Lou Womack on Aug. 16, 1985, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He joined the Army in January 1974 and retired in February 1994. His military honors included the National Defense Service Medal, second award; Overseas Service Ribbon; Army Good Conduct Medal, sixth award; Army Service Ribbon; Army Achievement Medal, fifth award; Army Commendation Medal, fifth award; NCO Professional Development Ribbon; Southwest Asia Service Medal; and Expert Qualification Badge Rifle M-16. He was a computer support specialist with the directorate of contracting at Fort Sill. He was a member of several Masonic organizations, was worshipful master of Mistletoe Lodge No. 31, assistant recording secretary of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, grand recorder of the Herman E. Duncan Grand Council and Commandery and Chief Raban of Menes Shrine Temple No. 32. He was a member of Stewart Chapter No. 34, Holy Royal Arch Masons, George W. Chambers No. 40 Knights Templar, Cornelius Carter Council No. 9 Select Masters, Golden Limit Consistory No. 133 and Mistletoe Chapter No. 77 Order of the Eastern Star. He was elevated to the 33rd degree, the highest degree of Masonry, in October 2000 in Washington, D.C. Survivors include his wife, Lawton; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jaeson and Jessica Reese, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; and Stephan Reese, Kansas; and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Hazel and Ernest McClure, San Antonio; Ruth and Morgan Hunt and Freddie Mae and James Nickerson, all of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John W. Reese Jr.; and a sister, Pamela L. Reese.
