Rhody Funeral for former Lawton resident Vetra S. Rhody, 87, Chesterfield, Mo., is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mrs. Rhody died Tuesday, April 1, 2003. ========= Lawton Constitution 3 Apr 2003 Vetra S. Rhody Funeral for former Lawton resident Vetra S. Rhody, 87, Chesterfield, Mo., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. James H. Brock, Lawton, officiating. Mrs. Rhody died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Chesterfield. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.She was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Dublin, Texas, to Chester and Mary Licett. She grew up in and graduated from high school in Dublin. She came to Lawton in 1941. She was a homemaker, but had worked for some time at Ratcliffe's Book Store. She moved to the St. Louis, Mo., area in 1996. She married Frank T. Rhody on Aug. 14, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas. He died May 14, 2000. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 16 years. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Gary Starr, Chesterfield; and Carolyn and Dick Fox, Gigharbor, Wash.; a sister, Elaine Logsdon, Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, or the charity of the donor's choice.
