Mr. Redfern passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Fresno, at the age of 86. He was born on September 18, 1914, in Mt. Scott, OK. Elmer was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Asia-Pacific Theatre, were he received the Bronze Star. He was a truck driver for Southern Pacific for 42 years. Elmer was a member of the Northwest Church for 50 years and was a Tutor at Fort Miller Middle School as part of the R.A.P. Program. He was a member of the American Legion Post #509. He preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mitzi. He is survived by his niece, Virginia Norcross, and great niece, Ariel Mackey of Fresno. He will be missed by many friends, especially his loyal fishing buddies James Scott and Krispen Norcross. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, June 2, 2001, from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 P.M., and Sunday, June 3rd, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at Northwest Church, West and Barstow, on Monday, June 4, 2001, at 10:00 A.M.
