Nov.6, 1968 Mrs. Emma Jane Rutledge Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Jane Rutledge, 77, who died Monday in Grady Memorial Hospital, will be held at 2PM Thursday in the Westside Church of Christ, Alex with Lester Stowe and Leonard Harper officiating. Mrs. Rutledge had been in failing health for the past two years and had had a serious heart ailment the past three weeks. Born April 11,1891, at Stonewall, Indian Territory, she spent her youth in Sterling, moving to Grady County in 1916 and settling in the Alex-Ireton Community where she resided until her death. In 1909, she married John W. Rutledge in Sterling. He preceded her in death May 9, 1955. They were early day farmers in this area and Mrs. Rutledge was a member of the Alex Westside Church of Christ. She is survived by eight sons; Horace Rutledge of Duncan, Alfred and John Rutledge of Alex, Marvin and Delford Rutledge of Chickasha, Raymond and Louis Rutledge of Lindsay, and Talmadge Rutledge of Oklahoma City, two daughters, Mrs. Emma Jean Zielonka, Yorktown, Tex. and Mrs. Lavena Mae Rodgers, Levelland, Tex. 42 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, three half brothers, Willie Monsey of Sterling, Louis and John McGee of San Augustine, Tex. and five half sisters, Mrs. Maggie Harberson and Mrs. Doshia McGee of San Augustine, Tex, Mrs. Pauline Bain of Garland, Tex., Mrs. Stella Parkerson of Fort Worth, Tex., and Mrs.Asa Kitchens of Sterling.
