All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution June 17, 2003 Viola Lorene Rimer Funeral for Viola Lorene Rimer, 87, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Saville officiating. Mrs. Rimer died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 30, 1915, in Loco to John Alfred and Nettie Brown. She married Hugh Montgomery Rimer on Dec. 12, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. He died March 15, 1968. She moved to Lawton in January 1947. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, was past treasurer of the Eunice Circle, was a white cross seamstress, served as a greeter for 20 years and was voted "Woman of the Year" in 1977. She had served as a volunteer for Mobile Meals and had been a volunteer for the USPHS Indian Hospital. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Donald and Jean Rimer, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Ronnie Rimer, Stillwater; a brother, Winston L. Brown, Lawton; four grandchildren: Scott and Kristin Rimer, Virginia Beach, Va.; Denton and C. J. Rimer, Stillwater; special friends: Jeff and Marilyn Coomer, Cache; and Carl and Jean Jones and their children, Allen and Marlys Smith and Sky and Sherry Hill, all of Lawton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Florene Bozeman. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
