All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 02 May 2002 Jim Shaw Jr. May 18, 1925 - April 30, 2002 Funeral for Jim Shaw Jr., 76, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Mr. Shaw died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Lawton. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born May 18, 1925, in Sentinel, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He was a veteran of World War II, entering the Army in 1943 and being discharged in 1946. After his discharge he completed his education, graduating from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He married Gail Anderson in September 1946 in Oklahoma City. She died in 1993. He moved to Lawton in 1952 and started the Farmer's Insurance Agency here, retiring in 1991 as district manger for Farmers Insurance Group. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Lawton Country Club. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Jim Shaw III and Cora Lee Shaw; three grandchildren: Terry Shaw and his wife, Christy; and Darry Shaw, all of Lawton; and Michael Whitehouse, Kentucky; two great- grandchildren: Kyndal Dunn and Garrett Shaw; three brothers and sisters- in-law: Bill and Betty Shaw and Gene and Flo Shaw, all of Oklahoma City; and Ray and Lois Shaw, Norman; a sister and brother-in-law: Carol and Richard Wood, Midwest City; a nephew: Vince Hobbs and his wife, Betty, Cache; and a great-niece, Brandi Hobbs, Cache.
