All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery--Akron OK Lawton Constitution 27 Jun 2003 Margie Ann Powell Schaaf MARIETTA, Ga. - Graveside memorial service for Margie Ann Powell Schaaf, 81, Marietta, Ga. will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Akron, Ohio. Ms. Schaaf died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Marietta. Arrangements were by Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta. She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Barberton, Ohio, to Annie Earl and William Wiley Powell. She graduated as salutatorian from Barberton High School in 1939. She was a member of Girls Reserve, Drama Club, National Honor Society, and was on the staff of the school newspaper. She lived in Kansas, Oklahoma and Georgia, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Monument Mother's Club. She was involved in the Methodist Episcopal Church, the PTA, 4-H Clubs and the American Business Women's Association. She was a homemaker for 20 years, and then had a 30-year career with the Social Security Administration. She received many awards for her work. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Bonnie and Tommy Hix, Lawton; and Susan and Tom Antwine, Moncks Corner, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Schaaf, Marietta; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Robert Powell, Dallas; and Richard Powell, Port Charlotte, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Taylor Powell and Bill Powell, and a sister, Earla Mary Powell Head. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6455 S.
