Shifflet Funeral for Michael L. Shifflet, 57, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Bill R. Johnson and the Rev. Daniel Jeong officiating. Mr. Shifflet died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Fort Polk, La.; to Marie Shifflet and Bill Shifflet. He graduated from high school in Louisiana and joined the Army. His awards include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and Army Commendation medal with two oak leaf clusters. He retired after 18 years as a first sergeant. He married Rose A. Hyehyon Shifflet on May 12, 1988, in Lawton. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife, of the home; and a daughter, Audrey Shifflet, of the home.
