All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 27 Mar 2003 Margaret Elizabeth Spencer Funeral for Margaret Elizabeth Spencer, 85, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God, 24th and Ave. H., with the Rev. J.O. Howard officiating. Mrs. Spencer died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at her home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born July 13, 1917 in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Warren H. and Anna Pearl Hughes Honea. She attended Bradfield School in Daingerfield, Texas. She lived in Mount Pleasant until 1937, then moved to Walters and later to Lawton. She married George William Spencer on July 31, 1938. He died Sept. 16, 1977. She was employed with Cole's Cleaners for 14 years and Orlando Nursing Home and Goodwill Industries for many years. She also worked with the voter registration program at Roosevelt School for many years. Survivors include a son, William D. Spencer, Lawton, a daughter, Helen K. Wiedeman, Faxon; 17 grandchildren: Michael, James, Chris, Candy, Bryan and Mandy, all of Lawton; Larry and Junior, both of Faxon; David and Billy, both of Chattanooga; Doug, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Kathy, Danny, Gary, Cynthia, Bruce and Johnny Lee, all of Broadway, N.C.; 26 great- grandchildren; a special friend, Lisa Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
