Siebert, Sr. Funeral for retired Lt. Col. Leonard J. Siebert Sr., 73, Lawton, is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Siebert died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at his home. ========= Lawton Constitution 10 Sep 2002 Leonard J. "Len" Siebert Funeral for retired Lt. Col. Leonard J. "Len" Siebert Sr., 73, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Becker Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Maj. David Scharff officiating. Col. Siebert died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Connersville, Ind., to Arthur Glenn and Theresa Mulheeren Siebert. He married Marjean Hoeger on Aug. 9, 1949, in Brookville, Ind. She died Nov. 11, 1972. He joined the Army on Nov. 18, 1952, and served in Korea and Vietnam. His medals include the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal (1st Oak Leak Cluster), Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, 2 Overseas Bars and the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the Army on Sept. 30, 1972. After retirement he was an Industrial/Economic Development Specialist for the Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments. He was also Lawton Assistant City Manager, and sold furniture for Midwest, Bowman"s and Wolverton's Furniture Stores. He married Charlene Webb in Lawton on Nov. 25, 1986. He was involved in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kiwanis and Action/RSVP. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn Agron and Warren Parks, Cache; a son, Leonard J. "Jay" Siebert Jr., San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Patti and Bob Gordon, Russellville, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Helen Siebert, Brookville; and two granddaughters: Amanda and Heather Gordon.
