Mrs. Scott died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Iraq. ========= Lawton Constitution August 31, 2003 Stephen Michael Scott Funeral for former Lawton resident Spc. Stephen Michael Scott, 21, Colorado Springs, Colo., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Margaret Scales, Interfaith Ministries, Wichita Falls, Texas, officiating. The Rev. Wayne Ashlock, pastor, First Christian Church, will assist. Mr. Scott died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Iraq. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, with Chaplain Lt. Col. James A. Ellison officiating, and under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born July 10, 1982, in San Antonio, Texas, to Tommy Dale and Deborah Stephens Scott. As a young boy, he and his family moved to Oklahoma City; Arkansas; Amarillo, Texas; Buras, La.; and Keizer, Ore., before moving to Lawton. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 2001. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 2001 until 2002 before joining the Army in August 2002. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense, and the Army Service Ribbon. He married Marie Pihulic on July 4, 2002, in Lawton. He was a member of Rocky Mountain Calvary Church in Colorado Springs. Survivors include his wife, of the home; his mother and step-father, Deborah and Larry Bross, Guthrie; his father, Tommy Dale Scott, Amarillo, Texas; two brothers: Joseph Hobbs and his wife, Stacey Ann, Johnson City, Texas; and Adam Forest Scott, Oklahoma City; maternal grandparents, John L. Stephens and Ethel Reiner, Edinburg, Texas; paternal grandmother, Iola Scott, Keizer, Ore.; a niece, Victoria Alexis Hobbs; a nephew, Levi Aaron Scott; his mother-in-law, Diane Pihulic; two brothers-in-law, Michael Pihulic, Cambridge, Mass.; and Matthew Pihulic, Lawton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Forest Scott. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1301 NE 14th Street, Oklahoma City 73117.
