DUNCAN - Funeral for John K. Standridge, 80, Duncan, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Olivet Baptist Church, Lawton, with the Rev. Floyd D. Allen Jr. officiating. Mr. Standridge died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, in Duncan. Interment with military honors will be at Letitia Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. He was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Yeager to W.A. and Myrtle Webster Standridge. He married Dorotha J. Mayhugh on May 17, 1947, in Burkburnett. She later died. He was employed as a farmer and later joined the military from 1940 to 1945. He was also a postal worker in Richmond, Calif., and later moved to Lawton. He drove a taxi and worked for the Seven Up Bottling Company for 15 years. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Christy Standridge, Wichita, Kan.; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Fritz Dodson, Duncan; a grandson, Shawn Kennard, Lawton; three granddaughters: Suzanne Balcom and her husband, Keith; and Misty Olin and her husband, Chris, all of Wichita, Kan.; and Victoria Dodson, Duncan; two great-granddaughters: Zoey Olin and Demi Olin, both of Wichita, Kan.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Gay Standridge, Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
