Mrs. J.E. Stair

PLAINVIEW - Mrs. J.E. (Mamie) Stair, 86, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. 

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, Family Life 
Chapel, with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in 
Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Stair was born in Marietta, Okla., and was raised around the Lawton, 
Okla., area. She moved to Hale County in 1940, where she was a homemaker. 
She also lived in the East Mound community. She was a member of First 
Baptist Church and the Pastor's Class. 

She married James Edward Stair in 1930 at Lawton, Okla. He died in 1987.

Survivors include three sons, James Stair, Robert Stair and Charles Stair, 
all of Plainview; four brothers, Roger Green of Forrest Grove, Ore., 
Archie Green of Lebanon, Mo., Clifton Green of Hidgen, Ark., and Ernest 
Green of Norman, Okla.; four sisters, Lois Priefert of Plainview, 
Estelliiine Lupin of Norman, Lilley Frier of Midwest, Okla., and Rosemary 
Cox of Lawton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to the First Baptist 
Church Building Fund.
